The telltale clue everyone is overlooking about Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ resignation

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump announced today that White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders is resigning, effective at the end of the month. Palmer Report pointed out that the timing was fascinating. It came barely an hour after the House Oversight Committee announced hearings into Kellyanne Conway’s Hatch Act violations – and Sanders has also violated the Hatch Act. But there’s another big clue about her resignation that everyone is overlooking.

Whenever Donald Trump dumps someone he likes from the White House, he offers them a job working for one of his connected Super PACs, or with the 2020 campaign. In fact Trump has been operating this way for a long time. When he transitioned from the campaign to the White House, and he didn’t want to take certain advisers with him, he offered them Super PAC jobs. It’s ostensibly Trump’s way of keeping his former people well-compensated, and thus loyal.

Considering that she’s been with Trump since the campaign, she’s remained fiercely loyal, and she surely knows a number of his humiliating and/or criminal secrets, Sarah Huckabee Sanders is precisely the kind of person who would be offered a high paying pretend-job in order to keep her quiet. We don’t know if Trump did indeed offer Sanders such a job, but we do know that she’s not planning to take it; today’s announcement revealed that she’s planning to move back to Arkansas instead.

So what does this tell us? If Donald Trump didn’t offer Sarah Huckabee Sanders a cushy new job, it would suggest that their split is less than amicable. If Trump did offer her a new job and she turned it down, it would suggest that there’s more here than meets the eye. Either way, this means Trump is now without one of the very few longtime White House loyalists he had left, at a time when things are caving in on him more rapidly than ever.
