Donald Trump goes berserk after learning John Dean is testifying against him
Former White House Counsel John Dean – who helped take Richard Nixon down for obstruction of justice – is set to publicly testify before the House Judiciary Committee tomorrow about the Mueller report. If Dean’s testimony tomorrow is in line with his existing public statements, he’ll testify that Donald Trump’s obstruction crimes are far worse than those that got Nixon ousted.
Suffice it to say that Donald Trump is less than happy to learn that John Dean is testifying against him. In fact, Trump’s reaction strongly suggests that Trump is afraid Dean’s testimony will go a long way toward swaying public opinion when it comes to Trump’s obstruction crimes. Trump tweeted this surreal meltdown about Dean this evening:
“For two years all the Democrats talked about was the Mueller Report, because they knew that it was loaded up with 13 Angry Democrat Trump Haters, later increased to 18. But despite the bias, when the Report came out, the findings were No Collusion and facts that led to No Obstruction. The Dems were devastated – after all this time and money spent ($40,000,000), the Mueller Report was a disaster for them. But they want a Redo, or Do Over. They are even bringing in CNN sleazebag attorney John Dean. Sorry, no Do Overs – Go back to work!”
To be clear, the Mueller report does not say that there was no collusion and no obstruction – and it’s telling that Trump is now twisting his sentences into pretzels to come up with phrases like “facts that led to No Obstruction” so he can justify such lies. Tomorrow’s John Dean hearing is scheduled to begin at 2pm eastern time and should air on most cable news networks plus C-SPAN. Dean is one of several legal experts who will be testifying.
