Rudy Giuliani’s Ukraine treason could be about to blow up in his face

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump’s sidekick Rudy Giuliani headed to Ukraine, apparently working with certain pro-Kremlin elements to manufacture a phony scandal about Joe Biden, in the hope of altering the outcome of the 2020 election. This is the textbook definition of Trump-Russia collusion; the only difference is that this time around, the Trump regime is committing these treasonous acts in plain sight. But there is a way to put a swift stop to it.

Democratic Senator Chris Murphy, who sits on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, announced this evening that he’s sent a letter to Committee Chairman James Risch, asking him to investigate Rudy Giuliani’s criminal antics. This probably won’t go anywhere, as Risch is a Republican. But with Senate Democrats going this route, it means House Democrats are surely focusing on this scandal as well. The difference is, House Democrats have compulsory power.

The House Foreign Relations Committee can easily subpoena Rudy Giuliani to come in and testify about just what he thinks he’s doing in Ukraine. This would fall very safely within the committee’s purview. If and when Rudy refuses to show up, they can hold him in contempt of Congress, and begin carrying out all the legal remedies available to them. The thing about Rudy is that, even though he’s brazenly corrupt, all you have to do is look at any of his interviews to see that he’s skittish and easily spooked. House Democrats may be able to scare him into backing down.

Moreover, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi recently hinted that she’s planning to hold one big full House hearing to formally hold all of Donald Trump’s obstructors in contempt of Congress, which would be a huge televised spectacle. Then they would take all of these contempt citations into court as a bundle. House Democrats can easily include Rudy Giuliani in this roundup.
