Donald Trump reaches a new milestone for terribleness

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

“President” Donald Trump, congratulations. The Washington Post reports that you have exceeded 10,000 lies since taking office, earning you the Pinocchio Award or perhaps the Rumpelstiltskin Award, for spinning lies 24/7. It is perhaps time for Merriam-Webster to add a new word to the dictionary, Trumplestiltskin, to celebrate this unprecedented (and unpresidential) achievement.

Today, in a manner of continuing with his lie binge, Trump tweeted: “Bob Mueller was a great HERO to the Radical Left Democrats. Now that the Mueller Report is finished, with a finding of NO COLLUSION & NO OBSTRUCTION (based on a review of Report by our highly respected A.G.), the Dems are going around saying, ‘Bob who, sorry, don’t know the man.’”

Maybe in his head he has heard Democrats going around saying that, but outside of his inner self, I have not seen or heard anyone saying this. As George Conway stated in response to the absurd tweet by Trump, “Mueller’s a hero to anyone who believes in the rule of law. You’re the antihero.”

Most importantly, the “highly respected A.G.” is a political hack and has acted as the personal counsel to Donald Trump instead of carrying out his job as the top law enforcement officer for the nation. And even William Barr could not, and has not, found “no collusion” or “no obstruction.” Finally, if Trump is so confident that Barr has so concluded and is above board, then perhaps Trump and his team can explain why this “highly respected A.G.” is crying foul about a committee hearing that would permit him to discuss and fully defend his “findings” – but we will not hold our breath.
