Maxine Waters slam dunks Donald Trump and John Kelly
Yesterday, in a development that nearly got buried in all of Donald Trump’s criminal chaos, we learned that White House Chief of Staff John Kelly is preparing to resign. We also learned yesterday, interestingly enough, that John Kelly has sold out Trump to Special Counsel Robert Mueller when it comes to the obstruction of justice investigation. That’s a big deal. But there’s another part of the Kelly debacle that’s also very important.
You see, John Kelly is a racist. When Kelly was Donald Trump’s Homeland Security Director, we saw him carry out his job in institutionally racist fashion against immigrants and minorities. Then, after he took over running Trump’s White House, Kelly reminded us that he’s also racist on a personal level.
Congresswoman Maxine Waters took a moment on Twitter to remind us of this: “John Kelly is one of a long list of failed & incompetent Trump appointees that served in a dysfunctional White House. Kelly leaves with a cloud over his head because of the lie that he told on Congresswoman Frederica Wilson. He refused to apologize. Leaves WH in disgrace.”
Even though Donald Trump will probably find a way to replace John Kelly with someone even worse, Kelly should never have had the job to begin with. It’s a great thing that he’s sold out Trump on obstruction of justice, which should help bring about Trump’s ouster sooner. But it’s also a great thing that John Kelly, unabashed racist, will no longer be in the White House.
