Last night Palmer Report pointed out that Donald Trump had been a little too quiet on Twitter, having gone four days without any sort of eruption or meltdown. This morning Trump appeared to be trying to make up for lost time, going utterly berserk about everyone from Robert Mueller, to Roger Stone, to Michael Cohen, to Michael Cohen’s family members – and the general consensus among legal experts is that he committed felony witness tampering in the process.

This Trump rant about Michael Cohen is so ridiculous, you have to read it twice: “‘Michael Cohen asks judge for no Prison Time.” You mean he can do all of the TERRIBLE, unrelated to Trump, things having to do with fraud, big loans, Taxis, etc., and not serve a long prison term? He makes up stories to get a GREAT & ALREADY reduced deal for himself, and get his wife and father-in-law (who has the money?) off Scott Free. He lied for this outcome and should, in my opinion, serve a full and complete sentence.” Okay, where do we start?

First of all, Donald Trump seems to think that “Scott Free” is a person who has wronged him, as opposed to a phrase about getting no punishment. He’s also accusing Cohen of having stashed his ill-gotten gains in the hands of his father-in-law, even though there is no known evidence of this. Third, Trump is using his position as President to demand that the justice system punish a witness against him.

Then there’s this tweet about Trump’s friend Roger Stone: “‘I will never testify against Trump.’ This statement was recently made by Roger Stone, essentially stating that he will not be forced by a rogue and out of control prosecutor to make up lies and stories about “President Trump.” Nice to know that some people still have ‘guts!'” Once again, Trump is committing witness tampering by praising a witness for refusing to testify against him.

We’ve seen Donald Trump do this kind of thing before, but less blatantly, and less frantically. Trump now appears to believe that he’s toast if he doesn’t find some way to flip over the chess board, and so he’s willing to commit new felonies in rapid fashion, for all to see, with abandon. And why not? By Trump’s logic, if he does end up having to answer for the dozens if not hundreds of felonies he’s committed, what’s a few more felony counts?
