Earlier this week, after a federal judge ordered that Donald Trump’s White House had to reinstate Jim Acosta’s press pass, the White House demanded more “decorum” from reporters who attend press briefings. Apparently Trump doesn’t think these “decorum” rules apply to himself, or he didn’t get the memo, or he didn’t know how to read the memo, because he just unloaded on incoming House Intel Committee Chair Adam Schiff in embarrassingly infantile and profane fashion.

Adam Schiff pointed out this morning that Donald Trump’s newly appointed Acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker hasn’t been Senate-confirmed, which makes the appointment illegal. Trump didn’t take too kindly to this, firing back on Twitter: “So funny to see little Adam Schitt (D-CA) talking about the fact that Acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker was not approved by the Senate, but not mentioning the fact that Bob Mueller (who is highly conflicted) was not approved by the Senate!” That’s right, he called him Adam Shit.

Adam Schiff wasted no time responding: “Wow, Mr. President, that’s a good one. Was that like your answers to Mr. Mueller’s questions, or did you write this one yourself?” So we’ll award the clear victory to Schiff here. Also, Schiff is about to have subpoena power in every one of Trump’s criminal scandals, so it’s clear who’s going to laugh loudest on this one.

We’ve reached the point where the President of the United States has so thoroughly given up on salvaging his failing presidency, he’s thrown any remaining smidgeon of pretense to the wind, and he’s now resorting to making up profane nicknames for the House leaders who are about to dismantle him.
