Donald Trump tries to play the victim and fails miserably

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

It’s been a week which has rocked mainstream America to its core. We’ve seen the attempted assassinations of more than a dozen prominent Democratic political figures, including two former U.S. Presidents, all at the hands of a rabid Donald Trump supporter. We’ve also seen a deadly shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue, at the hands of a far-right antisemite who liked to complain that Trump didn’t hate the Jews enough. So who’s the real victim here?

According to Donald Trump, the real victims aren’t the eleven Jews who were just murdered in their place of worship, or the police who got shot while trying to stop the shooter, or any of the political figures who were nearly murdered. No, of course not. The real victim here is Donald Trump. Just ask him.

Trump can’t stop complaining about how the media is focusing on these very real and very important developments, instead of focusing on the phony controversies he’s been pushing. Suddenly the media isn’t covering his lies about a harmless caravan in Central America, or the imaginary middle class tax cut that he’s promising to magically pass before election day, despite Congress not being in session. That’s a problem for Trump, because he and his GOP have nothing to run on in this election, beyond their strategic lies – and those lies only stick if the media keeps talking about them.

However, there is one bright spot for Donald Trump, at least in his depraved mind. He posted this tweet this morning: “Thank you to Steve Rogers, FBI Joint Terror Task Force (Ret), for his very kind and generous remarks about me and my relationship to Law Enforcement.” He can’t be bothered to give proper credit to the law enforcement officers who did such a brave and skilled job this week. But it’s really important to Trump that some retired guy on Fox News is insisting that law enforcement officials love Trump. This stooge can’t even play the victim correctly.
