FBI investigating District Attorney who allegedly covered up the crimes of Donald Trump’s kids

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

It’s a story that’s been around for a long time but has never gotten the attention it’s deserved – until now. Back in 2012, Ivanka Trump and Donald Trump Jr were on the verge of being indicted for felony real estate fraud by Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance. Then suddenly he dropped the case, according to the New Yorker, just as a Trump ally was donating $25,000 to Vance’s reelection campaign. Now, finally, the FBI is investigating the matters and it could turn ugly for everyone involved.

Cyrus Vance has an alleged history of doing this kind of thing on a regular basis, as he also let Harvey Weinstein off the legal hook in 2015, after Weinstein’s camp had also made a major donation to Vance’s campaign. Now the FBI is investigating whether Vance committed a crime by handling things in this manner, according to a new report from New York Daily News. So what happens to the Trump kids now?

That will depend on where this investigation goes. Two months ago it was reported that Cyrus Vance, perhaps in a belated attempt at covering for himself, was suddenly leading the charge in seeking criminal charges against Trump Organization officials. At the least, this new federal investigation into Vance could place additional pressure on him to try to right his own wrong by bringing Ivanka and Don Jr to justice.

On the other hand, if this federal probe forces Cyrus Vance out of a job, the replacement Manhattan District Attorney could move aggressively against the Trump Organization as well. No matter how this plays out for Vance, it’s difficult to see a scenario in which it ends well for Donald Trump Jr or Ivanka Trump. The Manhattan DA can indict and arrest Trump’s kids, as can the state of New York, and Donald Trump would not be able to stop it with pardons or firings.
