Donald Trump, homeless drifter

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

An American journalist was murdered this week by a foreign government, and countless Americans are facing devastating chaos in the aftermath of a major hurricane. So what’s the President of the United States doing about it? Nothing, because we don’t have one. Instead we have Donald Trump, a guy who stole the office and won’t give it back, even though he’s clearly unwilling to do the job.

Instead Trump has spent the week drifting from one city to the next, gathering up the local bottom feeders, ranting delusionally while they cheer him on, and then slinking off to find his next new low. Snake oil salesmen used to operate like this in the old days. There was no glory in it, of course. They were homeless drifters who were simply trying to land one more score before inevitably getting tripped up and made to answer for their crimes.

Donald Trump is supposed to be campaigning for various candidates within his party. But the speeches he’s giving have nothing to do with those candidates, nothing to do with the issues, and don’t focus on anything that might prompt his wide eyed suckers to do something as unglamorous as show up and vote for some other politician they’ve never heard of who happens to have an “R” next to his name.

It doesn’t matter, of course, because this is really just Trump getting one last chance to fulfill the delusional fantasy that he’s beloved and that his presidency is going well for him. If the Resistance does its job over the next three weeks, the Democrats will take at least one house of Congress, and the subpoenas will begin flying as his dismantling gets underway. Trump is already living the life of a homeless drifter. This month Special Counsel Robert Mueller seized his first piece of Trump Tower. It won’t be the last. By the time this is over, Trump might literally be a homeless drifter – at least until he’s sent to prison.
