Brett Kavanaugh totally loses it, begins yelling at Senator Dianne Feinstein
Brett Kavanaugh’s screaming, ranting, crying, unhinged opening statement today was uncomfortable to watch. By any objective measure, Kavanaugh completely lost it, spending the entire time yelling at no one in particular. But as it turns out, his vein-popping rage continued beyond his opening remarks. When Senator Dianne Feinstein began firmly but politely asking him questions about whether he thinks the FBI should investigate the allegations against him, Kavanaugh began yelling at her.
Dianne Feinstein pointed out to Brett Kavanaugh that all of his accusers are asking the FBI to investigate the matter, and that Kavanaugh himself believes he’s completely innocent. She then asked him this simple question: “If you’re very confident of your position, and you appear to be, why aren’t you also asking the FBI to investigate these claims?”
Kavanaugh began yelling at her, saying “Senator, I’ll do whatever the committee wants. I wanted a hearing the day after the allegation came up, I wanted to be here that day,” even as he repeatedly slammed his pen down on his desk. “Instead ten days passed, all this nonsense is coming out, I’m in gangs, I’m on boats in Rhode Island, I’m in Colorado. You know, I’m sighted all over the place, and these things are printed and run breathlessly by cable news. You know, I wanted a hearing the next day. My family’s been destroyed by this, Senator. Destroyed.” Feinstein then attempted to say something, but he cut her off and kept ranting.
Tellingly, even after Brett Kavanaugh yelled at Feinstein that he was “all in immediately” with regard to an FBI investigation, she flat out asked him if he was calling for one, and he refused to do so. This again raises the question: if Kavanaugh is completely losing his mind because he’s innocent, why doesn’t he want his name to be cleared by an FBI investigation? In any case, this guy isn’t mentally stable enough for the Supreme Court.
