Woman accusing Brett Kavanaugh of “gang rape” is doing a television interview about it
Even as Deborah Ramirez was stepping forward publicly last night to accuse Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault at a party, another unidentified woman was accusing Kavanaugh of having participated in several gang rapes. The question has been when or if the second woman would publicly identify herself ahead of this Thursday’s Senate Judiciary Committee hearings on Kavanaugh. Now we have our answer, and it’s a doozy.
The unnamed woman is being represented by attorney Michael Avenatti, who told the Hill on Monday afternoon that she will come out publicly with her accusations within “forty-eight hours” – which means by Wednesday afternoon. Moreover, she’s going to make her accusations against Kavanaugh during an on-camera television interview. The precise time, interviewer, and news outlet haven’t yet been finalized. But this is a remarkable development, particularly considering that Kavanaugh just decided to give an interview to Fox News.
Avenatti has spent the day documenting the email communications he’s had with the Senate Judiciary Committee, and the difficulty he’s had in trying to convince the GOP-controlled committee to allow this woman to testify. So now it looks like she’s going to do things the old fashioned way, by simply doing a television interview.
This can only serve to further force the GOP Senate’s hand. It’s already facing the prospect of Dr. Christine Blasey Ford testifying before the cameras on Thursday morning about her alleged attempted rape at the hands of Brett Kavanaugh. Now another woman accusing Kavanaugh of rape is about to appear before the cameras as well. Avenatti has previously stated on Twitter that in addition to one victim coming forward, he also has witnesses who can attest to the nature of these gang rape parties.
