Have Donald Trump’s racist Apprentice tapes landed in the hands of Ronan Farrow?
For nearly as long as Donald Trump has been in politics, there have been growing rumblings about secret tapes from the set of the Apprentice which showed Trump making racist remarks and other offensive remarks between takes. Now one of the people who claims to have seen the tapes is asserting that they’ve landed in the hands of none other than Ronan Farrow.
The saga began late last night when Tom Arnold, who says he’s seen someone else’s copy of the Trump Apprentice tapes, posted this tweet about the producer of the Apprentice: “Mark Burnett just went apeshit & choked me at this huge Emmy party then he ran away with his torn Pink shirt & missing gold chain. I’m waiting for LAPD.” Sure enough, the LAPD confirmed today that a battery report was indeed filed. Burnett’s wife Roma Downey then claimed on Twitter that it was Arnold’s fault, and she posted a photo of a bruise on her hand. But the bigger news here is the subject matter that may have prompted the altercation.
According to entertainment industry publication Deadline, Tom Arnold was telling party attendees that the Trump Apprentice tapes had been handed over to Ronan Farrow. This would be a huge deal, because Farrow led the way in exposing the Harvey Weinstein scandal and Les Moonves scandal. If Farrow has these tapes, it would mean an expose is forthcoming. So does he?
Ronan Farrow hasn’t directly responded to Tom Arnold’s assertion about the Trump Apprentice tapes. However, today Farrow did retweet something that he had originally posted on July 27th: “A quick reminder that I don’t comment on reporting I haven’t published, and if you’re reading about my work from secondary sources you’re often not getting the full or correct story—especially in cases where parties have an interest in downplaying or otherwise spinning.” Take this all for whatever you think it’s worth.
