Rand Paul exposed as a Kremlin agent
With less than two months remaining until the midterm elections, Democrats and Republicans running for office are not the only ones looking to impact future policies in America. As multiple intelligence agencies have informed us, Russian President Vladimir Putin has been trying to interfere in American democracy. Palmer Report has repeatedly documented the ways that Russia interfered in the 2016 presidential election and stole it for Donald Trump.
Julia Davis, an expert in Russian propaganda with the Atlantic Council’s Disinformation Portal, recently penned an article for the Daily Beast in which she laid out the Kremlin’s goal for the upcoming midterms. Despite Trump’s laughable tweets claiming that Russia will switch teams and help the Democrats in the election, Davis explains how desperate Russia is to prevent Democrats from taking back power, writing “Recent commentary on Russia’s tightly controlled state television reveals that pro-Kremlin forces are still rooting for the Republicans. And against his enemies.”
Many pro-establishment Russians actually rejoiced in the death of Senator John McCain as they believe no other Republicans will stand up to Trump or Putin the way McCain did. On Russia’s version of 60 Minutes, Russian State Media contributor Karen Shakhnazarov stated, “Global empires like the United States are destroyed from within… The U.S. is deteriorating. They won’t find other fighters like McCain. There won’t be any others like him. This process is irreversible.”
The Kremlin is now clearly looking for someone, the exact opposite of McCain, to be an ally in its goal to help Republicans in an effort to advance pro-Russia narratives. They did not have to look far to find an individual willing to put their interests above America. As Palmer Report has documented, Senator Rand Paul has long been a very close friend of the Kremlin. In fact, Paul recently made a trip to Moscow to personally deliver a letter from Trump to Putin. Following the meeting, Paul even pushed to remove sanctions on a group of Russians to allow them to come visit the nation’s capital.
After Paul previously voted against allowing the addition of Montenegro to NATO as he said it would upset Putin, it appears he is now looking to prevent current NATO partner countries Ukraine and Georgia from being admitted to the organization. “I think that if you really wanted to influence Russia’s behavior and you were talking in a one-to-one basis with Russia and you were to have some sort of agreement, I think an agreement not to have Ukraine and Georgia in NATO might lead to less conflict in both Ukraine and Georgia.”
This statement is a clear signal to Putin that Rand Paul will do whatever he can to advance Russia’s interests. If Ukraine had been a full member of NATO when Russia annexed Crimea, the United States would be bound to protect Ukraine against Russia’s invasion. While many in Russia were happy about McCain’s death, they are likely to be ecstatic to have found someone like Paul, willing to do Putin’s bidding, even if it goes against the best interests of America or our allies.
