Donald Trump, The Mad King
Bob Woodward has his book coming out next week and has promised that he has hundreds of hours of tapes to back up what he’s written. In the midst of that book publicity coming out, we also have a New York Times op-ed that is written anonymously by a “senior administration official.” According to both these sources, The Mad King has lost it, literally.
He tweeted one word after the op-ed appeared, “Treason?” to which the country and Twitter responded, “Yes, you have committed treason.” In a second tweet by the man in the White House, he screeched: “Does the so-called ‘Senior Administration Official’ really exist, or is it just the Failing New York Times with another phony source? If the GUTLESS anonymous person does indeed exist, the Times must, for National Security purposes, turn him/her over to government at once!”
National security? Really? The person does exist – no national newspaper with a heritage and history like the New York Times would go out with a fake op-ed writer. Perhaps your buddies at a certain cash register “newspaper” might do so, but not the Times. In addition, the National Security crisis is looking at you in the mirror. The authoritarian in the White House, proving by his very tweets and rants that he is unhinged, that he is a danger, that he must be stopped. And yet the GOP shrugged. They are standing by as this train wreck continues.
A serious question – what would you do if you had that person turned over? Read the Constitution, read some of the cases your nominee talked about for many hours today. We have had, and will continue to have, a First Amendment protection, a freedom of the press, an ability to protect sources. It will be here long after you have left the White House, which God willing, will be gone and very soon. You have once again proven you are not able to do the job, your tweet is a screaming example of unfitness to carry out the duties.
