Donald Trump has bizarre new motorcade incident

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

At some point in our lives, every one of you has gotten into a car, only to get right back out of it because something abruptly changed about your schedule. But few if any of you have a track record for weird, disturbed, and senile behavior like Donald Trump does – and none of you are currently pretending to be the President of the United States like he is. So his motorcade incident today was baffling to say the least, and still makes no sense.

Here’s how Steve Brusk of CNN put it: “Unusual. President Trump wearing hat and polo shirt got in motorcade at White House. But 3 minutes later, before motorcade moved, pool producer Betsy Klein reports he went back inside. Then, 15 minutes later, a lid was called, meaning he’s no longer going anywhere.” So it sounds like he was headed out for a third consecutive day of golfing, but then he… changed his mind? Forgot where he wanted to go? After all, this is Trump we’re talking about.

Today is a holiday, but it’s not as if Donald Trump does any “president” work even when it’s not a holiday. So after getting into his car wearing golf-style attire, he got right back out, went inside the White House, even though he had nothing going on today. Trump did begin ranting rather frantically on Twitter roughly three hours after he got back out of the car. Notably, his Twitter rant focused mostly on the fact that two of his Republican allies in Congress have recently been indicted.

Thus far the White House hasn’t even bothered making excuses for why Trump did what he did. The weather was fine in Washington DC today. It’s not as if he got rained out. If this were a normal person, we’d assume that he simply changed his mind, or something came up what we don’t know about. But this is Donald Trump, a guy who once blankly wandered away from his own motorcade on a tarmac, and had to be led back to it by one of his handlers. There’s a popular meme of a clueless Grandpa Simpson walking into a restaurant, hanging up his hat, turning right around, putting his hat back on, and walking back out the door. That’s what today’s Trump incident brings to mind.
