Donald Trump has berserk late-night meltdown about LeBron James after everything goes horribly wrong for him

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Earlier this evening, Palmer Report documented how this was shaping up to be one of Donald Trump’s worst days yet. He lost a pair of crucial court rulings on immigration. Paul Manafort’s trial is going badly for him. Roger Stone is on the verge of indictment. Russian operative Maria Butina has confessed her connections to the Trump campaign and transition team. Perhaps not surprisingly, Trump ended up having a midnight meltdown which was so bizarre, it was almost avant garde in its nature.

Naturally, there was a buildup throughout the day to Trump’s inevitable trip off the deep end. He posted more than twenty tweets and retweets during the course of the day. At one point he bragged about some sailboats that had Trump flags on them. At several points he retweeted the propaganda site Drudge Report. Then he retweeted Sean Hannity. But it wasn’t until just before midnight when Trump completely blew his stack in a manner so weird, we had to do a double take.

Here’s what Donald Trump tweeted at 11:37pm eastern time: “Lebron James was just interviewed by the dumbest man on television, Don Lemon. He made Lebron look smart, which isn’t easy to do. I like Mike!” We checked several times to make sure that this tweet really did come from Trump, and not from a parody account. We think maybe he’s referring to Michael Jordan when he says “I like Mike!” But if so, Michael Jordan slammed Trump last year for his racism. At this point, Trump’s intended meaning here is anyone’s guess.

But the real upshot is this: Donald Trump has spent all day sitting at his golf course while tweeting and retweeting total nonsense aimed at convincing himself he’s somehow doing a good job and that he’s beloved. He’s in a delusional haze, and it’s growing worse by the hour as his criminal scandals close in on him. Trump’s tweet about LeBron is a sign that he’s either desperate to distract us from an even uglier Trump-Russia bombshell that’s about to land, or he’s just completely snapped altogether.
