Robert Mueller just found a whole new way to nail Donald Trump on Russia

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller has spent the week going at Donald Trump from multiple angles, whether it be the start of the criminal trial against his campaign chairman Paul Manafort, or calling Trump’s bluff on sitting down for an interview. Now Mueller has found a whole new way to get to Trump, and it involves going through a certain famous Russian who will probably end up cooperating.

Robert Mueller is seeking to interview Russian pop star Emin Agalarov, who helped make the introductions that ultimately led to the Donald Trump Jr meeting with Russian government representatives at Trump Tower to try to obtain dirt on Hillary Clinton. This is a novel strategy. If Agalarov refuses to cooperate, Mueller can have him indicted for obstruction. That might never lead to his arrest or trial. But the last thing a pop star wants is to have to explain to his fans why he’s been indicted, or lose his ability to tour in nations that have extradition treaties with the United States.

So there’s good reason to believe that Emin Agalarov will indeed testify, and in fact NBC News is reporting that negotiations about that testimony are underway. Because Agalarov is the popular son of a wealthy Russian oligarch, we suspect he wouldn’t have to worry about retaliation by Vladimir Putin, in the way the average Russian citizen would.

Robert Mueller is lining up witnesses who can testify about the Trump Tower treason meeting from all sides. He already has a plea deal with Trump campaign deputy chairman Rick Gates, who can testify that Donald Trump was in on the plot, according to a loose lipped Rudy Giuliani. If and when Michael Cohen cuts his inevitable plea deal, he can also testify that Trump knew.
