Rand Paul reveals himself as a Kremlin puppet

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

When a criminal conspiracy has been exposed, and you’re still trying to figure out who all the participants are, often the best indicator is to simply look at who’s calling for a full investigation and who’s begging for the whole thing to be swept under the rug. In the wake of the indictment of a dozen Russian government spies for hacking the Democratic Party and giving its secrets to a Trump associate, Republican Senator Rand Paul is now making clear which team he plays for – and it isn’t Team USA.

Rand Paul appeared on CNN State of the Union this morning and insisted that the Russian government hacking of the United States Presidential election isn’t a big deal. Here’s how he framed it: “I think really we mistake our response if we think it’s about accountability from the Russians. They’re another country. They’re going to spy on us.” Wait, what? this wasn’t a matter of spying. This was a matter of a foreign government hacking into one of our political parties and handing its secrets to the nominee of the other party.

Rand Paul tends to take some weird political stands as part of his anti-government, wealthy-first libertarianism. But this isn’t some libertarian bender; it’s a treasonous position. Paul is clearly afraid of what will happen as the Trump-Russia investigation continues to turn over rocks. So it’s time to put this within the context of what we already know. Last year John McCain publicly accused Rand Paul of “working for Vladimir Putin” but didn’t elaborate. Did McCain know something that he couldn’t tell us? Earlier this year, Donald Trump managed to get Rand Paul to switch his vote on a crucial matter, and then Trump semi-coherently seemed to brag that he’d blackmailed Rand Paul into doing it.

Russian government hackers clearly targeted several U.S. Presidential candidates in 2016, from both parties. We know what they did to Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee. Republican candidate Marco Rubio is on record as having said that they tried to come after him. Rand Paul was also a 2016 presidential candidate. Did the Russians hack him? Are they holding blackmail material on him? Did the Russians give it to Trump? Is this why Rand Paul is so afraid of what the Trump-Russia investigation will turn up? Something isn’t right here.
