Sarah Huckabee Sanders throws tantrum about “bad behavior”

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump threw a childlike tantrum about the media during a joint press conference with UK Prime Minister Theresa May, and now Trump’s spokesperson is throwing a corresponding tantrum of her own. White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders is humiliating herself online today, as she tries to continue the inappropriate behavior that her boss started across the pond.

It all began when Donald Trump refused to take a question from CNN reporter Jim Acosta, instead falling back on his usual “fake news” refrain and calling on John Roberts of Fox News instead. This was so egregious that Roberts ended up publicly defending his rivals at CNN. But the Trump tantrum was just getting started, and now it was time for Huckabee Sanders to step to the plate.

Earlier today CNN’s Jake Tapper posted this: “John Bolton had been locked in for tomorrow’s @CNNSOTU. Then the president attacked CNN during his UK presser, and our WH correspondent tried to ask a question. We are told Amb. Bolton remains fully prepared to do the interview but the White House has canceled it.” Huckabee Sanders replied with this nonsense: “Actually a CNN reporter disrespected POTUS & PM May during their press conf. Instead of rewarding bad behavior, we decided to reprioritize the TV appearances for administration officials.”

Even as new White House Communications Director Bill Shine has begun openly talking about replacing Sarah Huckabee Sanders amid reports that she’s preparing to resign, she’s clearly still willing to participate in Donald Trump’s ugliest of tantrums. Huckabee Sanders has used her position at the briefing room podium to regularly lie to, lie about, yell at, and belittle various respected members of the media. She’s not in a position to turn around and lecture them about “bad behavior.”
