Donald Trump goes utterly berserk after his immigration gambit fails

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump’s gambit of kidnapping immigrant kids from their parents, and locking them in cages, has failed. It was a desperate last ditch ploy to fend off the demise of his presidency. But like any desperate criminal on the run who takes hostages as a last resort, Trump is learning he can’t trade his hostages for anything, and it’s merely allowing those trying to take him down to move in on him more aggressively. So now that he’s failed, he’s going utterly berserk – even by his standards.

Like a cornered hostage-taker who has now concluded that his only way out is to ratchet up his threats, Donald Trump has now decided to try to declare himself Emperor. No, really. Those nasty things like judges and courts? He’s demanding, with absolutely no leverage to make it happen, that he be allowed to bypass all of it. Here’s what the lunatic tweeted about it:

“We cannot allow all of these people to invade our Country. When somebody comes in, we must immediately, with no Judges or Court Cases, bring them back from where they came. Our system is a mockery to good immigration policy and Law and Order. Most children come without parents. Our Immigration policy, laughed at all over the world, is very unfair to all of those people who have gone through the system legally and are waiting on line for years! Immigration must be based on merit – we need people who will help to Make America Great Again!”

No judges or court cases? In an American legal proceeding? What does he think this is, North Korea? Again, Donald Trump has no political muscle left. His immigration hostage gambit has failed him. He’s now resorting to making ugly yet empty threats, in the hope of scaring the American people into giving him something. But if he keeps talking like this, he’s only going to accelerate his own ouster, as the people become more fervent that the government remove him.
