Trump’s “campaign manager” Brad Parscale makes desperate move

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Everything is going wrong for Donald Trump this week that can possibly go wrong. Paul Manafort is in jail. Roger Stone is about to be arrested. Michael Cohen is on the verge of a plea deal. The nation is in an uproar over Trump’s abuse of immigrant children, and his administration is so overmatched, it can’t even keep its story straight. Now Brad Parscale, Trump’s pretend campaign manager for a 2020 reelection campaign that doesn’t exist, is making a desperate move.

Now that the DOJ Inspector General has released his report, it’s clear that the FBI was leading an out of control witch hunt against an innocent Hillary Clinton, even as the FBI was properly and legally investigating Donald Trump’s numerous felonies. The report also basically confirms, by omission, that Rudy Giuliani is going to prison. This has sent what’s left of the Trump administration into a desperate tailspin.

Here’s what Brad Parscale tweeted today: “Time to fire Sessions. End the Mueller investigation. You can’t obstruct something that was phony against you The IG report gives Donald Trump the truth to end it all.” Make no mistake: Parscale just attempted to obstruct justice. Whether or not he can be criminally charged for it, well, that’ll ultimately be up to Special Counsel Robert Mueller. But it’s notable that Parscale is now risking prison in a frantic attempt at derailing the investigation into Trump’s crimes. This raises a crucial question.

Is Brad Parscale merely a naive idiot, or is he trying to protect himself? There is no Trump reelection campaign, because there’s zero chance Trump will be running for reelection; he’ll be on trial by then. Trump is merely using his phony 2020 campaign as an excuse to fundraise and line his own pockets. We’ve always assumed he put Parscale in charge of it because someone had to be the imaginary “campaign manager.” So why is Brad Parscale now committing obstruction of justice on Trump’s behalf? Is he really that much of a rube – or is this a sign that Parscale expects to be criminally charged by Mueller if he can’t quickly find a way to take Mueller down?
