I think we just got our confirmation that Rudy Giuliani is facing Trump-Russia criminal charges

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Today’s Inspector General report was supposed to scrutinize every inch of the FBI’s investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails. Sure enough, the report concluded that James Comey improperly went overboard with his public-facing actions during the election, and that there never was any Hillary email scandal. The weird part is what’s missing: the overwhelmingly suspicious behavior of Rudy Giuliani just days before the election. Now there’s a strong hint that there’s a reason it was left out.

Rudy Giuliani went on television shortly before James Comey wrote a letter which misleadingly claimed that Hillary Clinton was being newly investigated for her emails. Rudy bragged that he knew something was about to come from the FBI which would shake up the election in Donald Trump’s favor. Once the letter surfaced, it became fairly clear that Rudy knew it was coming. So who in the FBI field office in Albany leaked the information to Giuliani? And why wasn’t that matter properly addressed in today’s report?

Here’s what Kyle Cheney of Politico tweeted after the report surfaced: “Source briefed on the IG report says issue of alleged leaks to Rudy about Clinton investigation info isn’t limited to what’s in this report. More info to come on that later.” That’s more than a bit vague. But it also makes clear that the part about Rudy’s role was purposely left out. Let’s be clear here: this report is so thorough that if an FBI agent had failed to wash his hands after using the bathroom, it would have been in this report. Nothing would have gotten left out without a darn good reason, and the only reason would be if it interfered with an ongoing criminal investigation.

If this were simply about the FBI agent who leaked the information to Rudy Giuliani, that’s a straightforward crime, and the agent would have been dealt with long ago. Instead, this has to be about Rudy’s criminal liability. Robert Mueller must have asked that this part be left out. Considering the overall circumstances of this overly thorough report, it’s the only logical explanation. I think we just got our confirmation that Rudy is facing criminal charges in relation to the Trump-Russia election scandal.
