Roger Stone is taking the bait like an idiot

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Of all the doofus underlings in Donald Trump’s orbit, who’s the most gullibly naive? It’s not Michael Flynn or Rick Gates, who cut plea deals against Trump because they knew he was never going to risk pardoning his advisers. It’s not Michael Cohen, who is reportedly already considering flipping on Trump despite only having recently become a target. It turns out the most desperately naive chump of the bunch is none other than Trump’s longtime pal Roger Stone.

Donald Trump is, painfully obviously, not going to pardon any of his underlings. If he were going to do it, he would have pardoned Flynn and Gates before they cut their deals and testified against him. Trump doesn’t want to risk giving the courts the opportunity to step in and rule that he can’t pardon his alleged co-conspirators, which would make it more difficult for him to eventually try to pardon his family and himself. There are state level charges involved anyway, and the pardon thing simply is not happening. Just don’t tell that to Stone.

Trump has begun pardoning various people almost at random, ranging from deranged Obama stalker Dinesh D’Souza to the late boxer Jack Johnson. It’s clear that Trump is trying to fool his advisers into believing that he’s going to pardon them as well, in a last ditch effort at preventing them from flipping on him. Again, this is such an idiotic plan on Trump’s part, he’s doing this long after Flynn and Gates sealed his fate by flipping on him. But Roger Stone is almost eagerly falling for it.

In fact, Roger Stone is now trying to identify random people whom Donald Trump can pardon, because he believes that Trump truly is pardoning all these random people as a pretext for pardoning his own people. Stone is now trying to get Trump to pardon the late Marcus Garvey, even though he hasn’t bothered to involve Garvey’s family in the effort. Out of all of Trump’s idiot advisers, only Stone seems to be falling for Trump’s ruse. Then again, Stone is about to be indicted and arrested; perhaps he’s so desperate, he’s left reality behind entirely.
