How Roger Stone can, and probably will, destroy Donald Trump

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Roger Stone is such a cartoon villain, he recently threatened to murder a potential witness against him and kidnap his dog. He’s unraveling at an escalating rate, having made the sloppy mistake of putting these threats in writing. But this kind of cartoonish villainy is nothing new for Stone. He’s been pulling these kinds of antics for most of his life. Yet he’s always managed to survive, and that’s for a reason. That reason is about to be particularly bad news for Donald Trump.

Cretins like Stone survive by knowing whom to throw under the bus and when. They make sure others, above them or below them, take the fall for their antics. It’s why Stone didn’t go to prison when he was near the bottom of the Watergate hierarchy while he was working for Richard Nixon in the seventies. It’s why Stone wasn’t among the first to take the fall in the Trump-Russia scandal, when he was a freewheeling campaign adviser who answered to no one beyond Donald Trump himself.

But Roger Stone is about to get arrested. He recently admitted on Meet The Press that eight of his own associates had been hauled in to testify against him before a Robert Mueller grand jury. That’s even more than the six associates we already knew about. Stone is savvy enough to know that when the witnesses are stacked that heavily against you, you’re not winning at trial. He knows that, whether he wants to do it or not, his only way to avoid spending the rest of his life in prison is to flip on Donald Trump – and being a survivor, he will.

So what all does Roger Stone know about Donald Trump? Well, just about everything. The investigations into Trump’s scandals have revealed that he’s extraordinarily loose lipped around those he thinks he can trust. Stone is the closest thing he has to a lifelong friend. Stone surely knows every one of Trump’s professional, financial, political, and personal dirty secrets. Stone will have to give them all up in order to spend just a few years in prison instead of spending the rest of his life there.
