Roger Stone wigs out on Donald Trump ahead of his arrest

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

This weekend, Roger Stone went on Meet The Press and acknowledged what Palmer Report had already figured out based on grand jury proceedings: he’s going to be indicted and arrested soon. For some reason, large chunks of the mainstream media don’t think this is a big story, even though it’s rather clearly the driving force behind Donald Trump’s risky and sudden demand that the DOJ investigate the FBI over it investigated the Trump campaign’s crimes. Now, with the pressure mounting, Stone is wigging out on Trump.

Roger Stone has given a new interview to pro-Trump propaganda site Breitbart, in which he frantically begs Donald Trump to obstruct justice even more aggressively. Stone demanded that Trump appoint one of his own corrupt flunkies to run the phony investigation into the DOJ, saying “Mr. President, wake up! Your Justice Department cannot investigate the actions of your Justice Department.” He would have a point, of course, if there were any actual wrongdoing by the Justice Department to investigate.

Trump is forcing the DOJ to essentially investigate its own actions, and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is playing along on order to keep Trump sated while Special Counsel Robert Mueller continues to gradually take Trump down. Trump is enough of a delusional knucklehead to believe that he’s somehow won, and that this “investigation into the investigation” will somehow exonerate him and magically send President Obama to prison.

But Roger Stone, despite being a fringe lunatic himself, is at least smart enough to understand that this latest stunt isn’t going to help Donald Trump or anyone on his side. Stone also knows that his head is the next to roll, and so he’s all but begging Trump to stick his neck out further in the name of saving Stone. That’s unlikely to happen, as Trump has allowed numerous advisers and underlings to get swallowed by the investigation without helping any of them. If Stone is that worried about his fate, he might as well just cut a plea deal against Trump now.
