Oh come on, Trump you idiot

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

I know, I know. I should endeavor to come up with better headlines than “Oh come on Trump, you idiot.” But after what he just tweeted tonight, I’m dumbfounded. Even by his rock bottom standards, this is just stupefying. We each know that one blithering idiot who doesn’t have an ounce of understanding of science, and proudly blurts out that climate change can’t be real because it’s cold outside today, right? It turns out Donald Trump is indeed that idiot.

Here’s what Trump tweeted tonight: “In the East, it could be the COLDEST New Year’s Eve on record. Perhaps we could use a little bit of that good old Global Warming that our Country, but not other countries, was going to pay TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS to protect against. Bundle up!” Seriously, what? This is what the so-called President of the United States is trying to pass off in place of science?

This tops what has been anything but a banner day when it comes to Trump and his Twitter buffoonery. He proudly proclaimed that he had wiped out ISIS, only for ISIS to prove him wrong in deadly fashion just hours later. He tried to attack Vanity Fair, but ended up attacking the editor of Vogue by mistake. He inexplicably congratulated an Iowa college football team for no reason. He attacked China for something that Russia did.

Some of Donald Trump’s recent tweets have caused international incidents. Some of his tweets about the FBI have been felonies. But when it comes to all-time flat out willful and prideful ignorant stupidity, Trump’s tweet about climate change has to take the cake. He thinks he smartly saved trillions of dollars because climate change isn’t real, because there’s a snow storm. This is like thinking we’re in a depression because the stock market had one down day, or that a Hall of Fame quarterback is a bust because he threw one bad pass. I know I should try to combat Trump’s buffoonery with thoughtful discourse. But right now all I’ve got is this: oh come on, you idiot.
