MSNBC: Mike Flynn, seeking immunity, may have evidence proving Donald Trump guilty on Russia
In the hours since the Wall Street Journal first reported that former National Security Adviser Mike Flynn is seeking immunity in exchange for his testimony in Donald Trump’s Russia scandal, additional details have begun leaking out. The FBI would only grant Flynn such a deal if he can take down a bigger fish in return. To that end, an MSNBC analyst is reporting that Flynn may indeed have evidence in hand that he was acting on Trump’s orders when he broke the law.
Mike Flynn was forced to resign in February, after it was revealed that he had been illegally discussing sanctions with the Russian Ambassador during the transition period. That itself was a violation of the Logan Act, and then Flynn went on to lie about it to the FBI, a prosecutable felony. MSNBC analyst Jeremy Bash, who has a prior history as Chief of Staff at the State Department and CIA, reported the following on-air on Thursday night. His words were posted online by respected political pundit Caroline Orr:
Jeremy Bash on @MSNBC: Flynn may have evidence showing he was given orders from Trump to discuss removing sanctions w/Russian ambassador.

This may explain why Michael Flynn is offering to cut a deal. He’s spent years working in the government, including the Defense Intelligence Agency, and he’s surely aware that immunity is only granted when a suspect can deliver evidence that a more important suspect in the hierarchy is guilty. Flynn wouldn’t even be bothering to make the immunity request unless he has sufficient evidence up his sleeve. So it’s not surprising to see tonight’s MSNBC report that Flynn may indeed have that evidence.
In turn, Donald Trump is probably able to recognize Mike Flynn’s immunity request as a sign that Flynn does indeed have evidence against Trump. That may explain why there’s a credible report tonight that Donald Trump is considering resigning the presidency. Contribute to Palmer Report
