Here comes Donald Trump’s ultimate meltdown
Donald Trump’s Russia scandal is now closing in so tightly on him that there’s no longer anywhere for him to hide. There are no avenues of deniability, no advisers to scapegoat, just a letter of intent with his signature proving that he was trying to build a Trump Tower in Moscow while he was running for President of the United States. And in response, Trump spent Monday saying… nothing. But that’s about to change in a big way.
Based on the evidence I’m seeing, I’ve come to believe that Trump is suffering from a combination of two core problems. He clearly has a declining cognitive ability which prevents him from being able to fully grasp what’s going around him. He also has an increasingly isolated existence in which his handlers try to keep bad news away from him for fear of accelerating his cognitive collapse.
That’s led to days like Monday, where the old and quasi-coherent Trump would have jumped on Twitter and tried to fight back against the unfolding Trump Tower Moscow scandal in real time. But the new Trump, the one who has less of a clue what’s going on than ever, was nowhere to be found online. Apart from a few retweets of other people’s posts, he didn’t post any actual tweets of his own on Monday. Considering that his political life and convict future were flashing before him on every major news outlet, it was a shocking day for him to go into a funk and not bother. But that’s about to change in a massive way and we all know it.
So who will be Donald Trump’s target(s) once he shakes off his current slump and decides to resume wreaking havoc on Twitter? And when will it come? First thing Tuesday morning, or will he spend another day in a quiet stupor first? But once it sinks in for him that his Russia scandal has now reached the nth degree, his eruption is coming. It’ll be his biggest and most unhinged meltdown to date. And yet it might even get drowned out by the next shoes to drop in the Trump Tower Moscow scandal, which we all know are coming.
