Some people never learn. Apparently the low-IQ division of the so-called “Proud Boys,” which as far as I can see is all of them, appeared representing their failed group in support of their failed Fuhrer-god at his latest failed Hitleresque rally on Saturday.

The North Carolina Nuremberg-style rally was cancelled by Donald Trump himself due to rain. There’s actual precedence for this. Recall that, due to rain, “president” Trump famously refused to attend a French ceremony commemorating soldiers who died in World War I in November of 2018. Back then, the official lie from the White House was Trump couldn’t arrange safe transportation to the event. The real reason was because of his hair. Trump’s hair doesn’t fare well in the rain. Or maybe he was afraid he’d melt.

Whichever it was this time, without apology Trump abandoned his supporters, who also came to greet him at the airport, standing slack-jawed, stupid and disappointed. The unindicted members of the Proud Boys were seen at the North Carolina venue walking among vendors who were selling Trump cult merch such as hats and flags and signs with vulgar messages on them. As with all things Trump the cancelled event was a complete fiasco.

The rally was supposed to be Trump’s first major public address since his election interference trial started this past Monday in New York. Mother Nature, demonstrating her famous hatred for vacuums, had other ideas. Trump didn’t get to put the “turd” back in Saturday after all. The Proud Boys didn’t get to stand by their Klan. Trump didn’t get another chance to whine in public and compare himself to Lincoln or Jesus. There wasn’t a dry fascist eye in the house.

Trump’s failure to stage another hate rally serves as a metaphor for his other mounting disasters. Calamity comes at him from every direction. He is like Hitler sheltering in his bunker during the final days of World War II. His options get poorer with each passing day, and the walls of disaster are closing in. Trump doesn’t even have the rare comfort he derives from staging another of his fascistic sieg heil rallies, one of the few events he can stay awake in.

Trump’s life is rained out and his prospects are in tatters. And all he has to show for it is a bunch of loonies and Proud Boys waiting for him in the rain. Trump is pathetic. And, as ever, ladies and gentlemen, brothers and sisters, comrades and friends, stay safe.
