Sean Hannity just went berserk on-air about Trump-Russia, and probably sent himself to prison in the process
Fox News host Sean Hannity is having a really, really rough time of it lately. First he was exposed for having secretly used Donald Trump’s “attorney” Michael Cohen for personal legal advice, even while dishonestly reporting on the Trump-Cohen scandal. Then yesterday it was revealed that Hannity was in the middle of an ugly and potentially illegal plot between Cohen and Stormy Daniels’ former attorney. By last night, Hannity had fully cracked. He used his show to call for Trump-Russia witnesses to begin destroying evidence, likely committing a felony in the process.
Yesterday’s new Michael Cohen revelation means that at the least, Sean Hannity is going to be called as a material witness, likely in civil and criminal court. Just hours after Hannity got dragged into the middle of things, a separate report revealed that in the wake of Paul Manafort’s witness tampering bust, various Trump-Russia witnesses have begun voluntarily turning their phones over to Special Counsel Robert Mueller. Hannity seemed to figure out that he was going to be asked to turn his phone over as well, and that’s when he snapped during his show last night.
Here’s what Sean Hannity said on-air last night, repeating one of Donald Trump’s wildly false accusations against Hillary Clinton in the process: “Maybe Mueller’s witnesses… I don’t know. If I advised them to follow Hillary Clinton’s lead, delete all your emails, and then acid wash the emails and the hard drives on the phones, then take your phones and bash them with a hammer into little itsy bitsy pieces, use bleach pit, remove the SIM cards, and then take the pieces and hand it over to Robert Mueller, and say ‘Hillary Rodham Clinton, this is equal justice under the law.'”
Make no mistake: what Sean Hannity is describing is a felony. He’s actively encouraging Trump-Russia witnesses to commit this particular felony. And because he’s one of the witnesses in this scandal, he can’t argue that this was mere sarcasm or a joke. He just publicly instructed people to destroy evidence that he knows could potentially incriminate him. If Sean Hannity wasn’t going to be indicted and arrested before, he sure as hell will be now.
